A Hardsurface Practice turned into a Portfolio Piece that’s how 3 days turned into 2 and a half weeks.
This started as a simple exercise and slowly grew into a fully rendered cinematic prop. I built it step by step modeling the core shapes, unwrapping the UVs, and finally lighting and rendering the final mood. My goal was to create a detailed sci-fi object with a dramatic palette of green, cyan and yellow tones.
A big milestone for me on this piece was learning and applying a full UDIM workflow for the first time. It expanded how I think about texture management, and made this prop a valuable learning experience.
Created using Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop, plus some AI Tools
